Overview
On July 24, 2025, the Opioid Remediation Collaborative (ORC) partnered with the Socorro Detention Center to deliver targeted training led by Dr. Pade. The session focused on equipping staff with the skills to recognize signs of opioid and alcohol intoxication among individuals in custody. As detention centers across New Mexico continue to confront the impacts of substance use, this training represented a proactive effort to strengthen response strategies and support safer care.
The ORC commends Warden Eddie Garcia for his leadership and commitment to long-term staff preparedness. Plans are now underway to implement quarterly training sessions, ensuring that teams remain informed and equipped to respond effectively.
