Overview
On September 9, 2026, the Opioid Remediation Collaborative of New Mexico (ORCNM) presented project updates to the Hidalgo County Board of County Commissioners. Led by Executive Director Shauna Hartley, the presentation provided an opportunity to highlight progress on regional opioid remediation initiatives and discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen community health and safety.
During the meeting, Hartley shared updates on ORCNM’s NARCAN distribution efforts, emphasizing the importance of expanding access to lifesaving overdose-reversal medication. She also provided information on Senate Bill 3 (SB3) initiatives, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen behavioral health and substance use services throughout the region.
The presentation included a review of progress made under ORCNM’s FY 2025–2026 Strategic Plan, outlining the organization’s continued commitment to evidence-based prevention, accessible treatment, long-term recovery, and harm reduction strategies. These initiatives reflect a coordinated approach to addressing substance use challenges and improving access to essential resources in rural New Mexico communities.
ORCNM extends its sincere appreciation to the Hidalgo County Commissioners for their continued leadership, support, and partnership. Through ongoing collaboration and strategic investment of opioid settlement funds, ORCNM remains committed to building healthier, safer, and more resilient communities throughout Hidalgo County.
