Overview
On January 16, 2025, the Opioid Remediation Collaborative (ORC) facilitated a Trauma-Informed Training session in Sierra County, hosted in collaboration with Olive Tree. The session was led by Bryce Pittenger, LPCC, whose extensive expertise provided attendees with valuable insights into the impact of trauma on individuals and communities.
The training delved into the effects of trauma on children, families, and communities in New Mexico. Participants were introduced to the three pillars of trauma-informed care and learned effective interventions for individuals experiencing traumatic responses. The session emphasized the importance of understanding trauma’s role in behavioral health and the necessity of implementing trauma-informed approaches in various service settings.
