Overview

On December 3, 2025, the Opioid Remediation Collaborative of New Mexico (ORCNM) proudly supported the Valencia County Detention Center with the installation of a new narcotic cabinet, a vital step toward the launch of the facility’s 24/7 pharmacy. This strategic investment ensures that medications can be securely stored and accessed around the clock, directly improving care delivery for incarcerated individuals.

Funded through opioid settlement dollars, this initiative is part of ORCNM’s broader commitment to expand access to MOUD (Medications for Opioid Use Disorder) in detention settings—critical environments for supporting recovery, reducing overdose risk, and promoting equity in care.

By working closely with Warden Randy Gutierrez and county officials, ORCNM continues to prioritize treatment access behind correctional walls, breaking cycles of addiction and advancing long-term recovery for justice-involved individuals.
